Bio

As Vice President, Business Partnerships for the Pittsburgh Penguins, David Peart serves as the senior business development and sales executive and head of the department which manages the Penguins business development responsible for key partnership management and sales responsibilities including corporate sales, premium seat sales, ticket sales, broadcasting, new media, promotions and publications.


Peart, has held numerous senior level executive positions with teams such as the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Dallas Stars, and Texas Rangers. He has served as the chief revenue officer for teams and venues that have been recognized as industry leaders.


In addition to his extensive team management work, Peart was Founder and CEO of Spike Group consulting firm. With nearly three decades of experience in the sports industry, Peart has provided consulting for over 100 sports and entertainment venues and to numerous universities, sports leagues, facility management companies and pro teams. He has been a part of four new professional sports venue projects as a lead business development executive for each new facility. His sponsorship work with fortune 500 companies has provided a platform for clients to receive considerable value and exposure through creative and innovative marketing partnerships developed by Peart in response to his client’s business objectives.


Peart has been a part of nine facility naming rights projects in seven U.S. Cities including Reliant Stadium in Houston and Monster Park in San Francisco. Marketing and branding initiatives developed by Peart have won numerous awards and serve as best practices for many teams and properties. Peart is respected for his extensive relationships, industry expertise and proven track record. He has frequently lectured on sports and entertainment management subjects at schools such as Stanford University, Rice University, University of Dallas, Point Park University, University of Houston, Baylor University, UC Berkeley and San Jose State University. Peart has contributed to numerous books and publications on sports management.
