Let’s talk this month about Detroit Tigers Kenny Rogers pitcher and the substance-on-the-hands incident in Game Two of last month’s World Series. Did he cheat? Was he playing inside what many refer to as simply “the game within the game?” I recently had a discussion on this topic and the answers, and opinions, vary as to the feelings towards Mr. Rogers’ actions.
One colleague said simply, “It’s the way the game is played. Everyone does it.”
Another said, “It was obvious to everyone that he was cheating. There’s a right and a wrong and there is no in between. Rogers was wrong.”
