When asked what I enjoy most about my career, I often say the family nature of our industry. So many of us are connected with a group of colleagues we started out with in our earlier days, perhaps a college classmate or others we met along the way. The beauty of the sports business is truly in the relationships and the family nature of what we do. That's why I'm very much looking forward to attending the Kane County Cougars' Salute to the Veeck Family tonight in their "Night of 100 Promotions." As we, the family of industry professional grow in our careers, just like our biological families, we owe a debt of gratitude to our fore-fathers and in my mind, there is no one more important in the history of sports marketing than Bill Veeck and his family.
